Order of Saint Benedict (OSB)The Order of St. Benedict is a Benedictine Mission for men and women, (18 and older) who are married or single and residing in the United States, who desire to focus on continued growth in their personal spirituality and who will maintain a personally developed Rule of Life which includes - a daily set of prayers and readings that feed, pacifies and expands their soul directed toward deepening their union with God. An Novice will continue in their own present situation and location. Meetings and Retreats are held for the Community at various times throughout the year. Aspiring Novices need not immediately become members of the Church, but must be received into the Church when the decision is made to begin their novitiate. You are invited to contact Fr. Robert Rawson OSB, Chaplain/Spiritual Director for an introductory Brochure and other information about becoming a Benedictine Novice. Assistance in the development of a personal Rule of Life and an extensive explanation is provided in the "MANUAL" ($20) provided to Novices. The Novice goal is to strive toward Obedience, Stability and Conversion in order to achieve PAX (Peace of God) in their life. Personal spiritual direction sessions must be held with the Chaplain/Spiritual Director at least Quarterly by the Novice and as needed either in person, email or telephone depending on location. A brief monthly report concerning spiritual progress by the Novice is also required to be submitted to the Chaplain/Spiritual Director. The Novice period is normally for one year but depending on personal experience and progress may be less. Admittance as a full Benedictine follows if desired and accepted. Christians of other church denominations are invited to become 'Companions" and participate with our OSB Community for the same goals as outlined in the "MANUAL" and may attend any meetings, retreats, etc. For more information, please see Fr. Rawson's website HERE.
